How do you save chords from a website to use offline?
Save the text of the chord sheet, not the page. A saved web page or a screenshot keeps the ads and the layout and loses what makes chords useful: you cannot transpose a picture, a bookmark needs a signal, and a sheet aligned with spaces falls apart on a narrow screen. Copy the chords and words into something that stores them as text on your phone, with each chord attached to its word, and they will open anywhere.
Why
Chord pages are built for reading once in a browser, not for keeping. The chords are usually positioned with spaces over the lyric line, which only works in one font at one width, and the sheet is surrounded by everything the site needs to pay for itself. The part worth keeping is small: the chords and the words, and which word each chord belongs to. Keep that, and the rest can go.
What it does
- Choose the version you trust before saving it; the saved copy is the one you will play.
- Keep each chord attached to the word it sits over, not to a number of spaces.
- Check the saved sheet against the page once, while the page is still open.
- Keep where it came from, so you can go back if a line looks wrong.
What it deliberately does not
- Screenshots: fine for a night, useless the first time you need a different key.
- Copy-pasting into a notes app, where the spacing shifts and the chords drift off their words.
- Saving the whole page for offline reading, with every ad and comment it came with.
- Relying on a site's own app or account being there next year.

Does an AI tool make up chords when it cleans up a page?
It can, which is why the result should be checked against the page. Campfire Chords checks every lyric line against the page text and takes out any line that is not there, and the preview tells you when it did.
What if the page is too cluttered to read?
Select only the song on the page, the chords and the words, and copy just that. In Campfire Chords, a selection made before tapping This is it is used instead of the whole page.
